This TEDxMelbourne evening event will include videos from the legendary TED Talks plus a presentation from successful Melbourne entrepreneur Nicci Gafen aka “Miss Organic”.

Nicci Gafen is extremely passionate about informing others about the benefits of enjoying a healthy lifestyle, particularly through consuming organic, unprocessed foods. Miss Organic is Melbourne’s fastest growing organic retailer and Nicci attributes this to her ethical, health and environmental philosophies – fairly unique even to the organic retail industry.

So successful has Miss Organic been that Nicci’s company has recently moved into a new larger headquarters in Port Melbourne with a brand new website to cope with the needs of her fast growing customer base.

Nicci’s interest in organic food was sparked after her family dog “Rocky” made a full recovery from terminally ill cancer after being fed only organic raw meat, bones and vegetables. Rocky’s recovery and other life experiences inspired her to make permanent lifestyle changes including eating organically.

The change Nicci experienced in her own wellbeing led her to start an organic delivery business in Sydney which initially involved visiting the Sydney Markets, packing boxes in her parents garage and delivering in her little car.

Since moving to Melbourne in 2008, Nicci has gown a healthy organic community over the past year through her unique service, nutritious food, wellness events and health newsletter and is particularly driven to provide children a health start to life.

Join us on August 11 in the Melbourne CBD for a night of sharing real-world entrepreneurial experience and inspiration.

More specifically, he will be focusing on how the delivery of information online can be made more efficient, more relevant, and more fun through the use of technology.

He will demonstrate alternative models of online education, and explain how they can offer accessible, quality, continuously up-to-date information to students.

He will also show how these models can empower educators by enabling them to express their proficiency and specialization, while being appropriately remunerated for it.

Ultimately, he will show how customized, wide-spread education can be made viable, and what this outcome represents for us all.
