Tell us about you?
I've always been drawing since I was young, painting and drawing with my grandmother, who was an exceptionally talented artist. Since moving to Melbourne from coastal country Victoria, I have worked throughout the print industry, completing an apprenticeship in Print Finishing and Bindery, and since completed a Bachelor of Education Secondary / Bachelor of Arts. I like to draw/sketch as much as I can, often relishing the cathartic moments, especially this year to escape the noise of 2020.

What influences you?
My biggest influences would be the music I listen to; i.e, Punk, Hardcore, Ska, and the ideologies that accompany them; PMA, Straight Edge, Youth Crew Movement, Equality, Freedom of Expression, SHARP. When I listen to music, often I see a story playing out in my head, and I draw on those images that I see. Dance has also become one of my biggest influences, and I think in absence of being able to during the Melbourne lockdown, it forced me to explore new avenues of expressing dance, in the from of drawing.
What Motivates you as an Artist?
I am motivated by many different sources, mostly music, drawing on the ideologies from the Punk and Hardcore scenes. Although, I always like to explore new mediums or techniques or subject matter. I find that I am constantly draw to the idea of how to portray "movement". Whether that means physical movement, for example 'dance' or mental movement, how the mind thinks and changes.
What are you working on at the moment?
At the moment I've been drawing / sketching with charcoal working on small series of the female figure. But recently I've had a sudden resurgence of dancing especially ballet and contemporary dancing, I have no idea where this motivation has come from but I attribute it to my fixation for movement.
What does the theme 'United' mean to you?
