Tell us about you?
I am a multi-disciplinary creative — a Creative Director by day and an artist all other times. I specialise in consumer brand experience design. My first love was art. Only in recent years, after I gave birth to my second child, I have been able to spend more time pursuing this more liberal façade of my creative spirit. I am also trying to finish an online HarvardX course in Japanese Books: Manuscript to Print. Last module to go!

What influences you?
I self-taught myself to draw as a child from reading Japanese manga, notably genre of shōjo manga by Waki Yamato. Looking back, I think I was primarily drawn to her stories that always heroes strong female protagonists while her line imbues gracefulness and vivid details. Whilst my favourite art movement would be the Impressionist Movement, notably Claude Monet. He was ground breaking. His artwork seems to move, capturing the moment's light, through mastery of colours and evocative brushstrokes.
What Motivates you as an Artist?
I am driven by an insatiable appetite to learn and a passion for human centric design that can innately inspire or transform the user/audience. In essence - human stories. In my professional career, it is other's story that I endeavour to convey into visual language. In my own artistic pursuit, I'm pouring out the evanescent from within me into something tangible in whatever medium I felt most appropriate at that moment.
What are you working on at the moment?
I have 1.8m x 1m canvas that I have been struggling to finish since last year. There's a common thread that every so often appears in my work since high school. A story in nature, about revealing the inner layer underneath the cracked outer, about the precious value of brokenness. I am drawing on the eucalyptus tree around my neighbourhood as my source of inspiration.
What does the theme 'United' mean to you?
