Youth whisperer, earth mother and crusader for child protection and adoption reform Jules Allen knows from first-hand experience how difficult it can be as a young person. Using this knowledge, she’ s dedicated her life to making a positive difference in the lives of the next generation, helping them overcome trauma and adversity and go on to make a positive difference. Describing motherhood as the most wonderful source of lifelong learning, Jules is the proud single mum of four grown children, a blend of her own, adopted and fostered. In the past 12 years, she’s also cared for 31 foster kids. Alongside Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness, Jules crusades for adoption reform. She has worked on a global scale with women and children who are victims of gross human rights violations and is the face of Adopt Change and Foster Care Australia. Prompted by a dare from her kids, in 2013 Jules became a contestant on MasterChef Australia. She’ s also writing her first book, ‘Gifts in Shitty Wrapping Paper’, which will take an insightful look in to how you can turn their greatest adversity in to your greatest gift. Jules believes the greatest adventure is that found within the mind; challenging the mind to think outside of its pre-conceived, patterned perceptions.
