About this Event

A TED Circle is an interactive experience where we meet-up for conversations about ideas. In this present space, we’re taking it digital.

Theme: Leading with Curiosity

They say curiosity killed the cat. It also opens us up to the stars, the wonders of nature and the power of imagination. Curiosity is what defines humanity’s growth and acceleration as a species. Our ability to imagine and create allows us to see things in new ways.

We are experiencing an increasing rate of polarising debates. Should we lock down? Should we vaccinate? What do we do with Trump? Do we trust corporations with our personal data and if we reach tipping point for the environment, how should we respond?

Each side is very passionate about their position but are we equipped to fully evaluate both sides? Do we have an active strategy for objectivity? Let's explore our values, assumptions, (unconscious) bias and see if our perspective is right, wrong or something in between.

Watch this talk before the TED Circle:

Featured Talk - Why I have coffee with people who send me hate mail, Özlem Cekic

Özlem Cekic's email inbox has been full of hate mail since 2007, when she won a seat in the Danish Parliament -- becoming the first female Muslim to do so. At first she just deleted the emails, dismissing them as the work of fanatics, until one day a friend made an unexpected suggestion: to reach out to the hate mail writers and invite them to meet for coffee.
