Amel was born in Indonesia. She moved to Australia in the 90s and has been living on and off between two countries ever since. Amel designs for a living, and makes artwork to fulfil her passion. She considers herself as a third culture kid and her work is influenced by (in no particular order) nature, culture, the lives of people she meets, and the social issues impacting the world around her. She’s found purpose in creating art, sharing it with others, and she hopes to make a positive contribution, no matter how small. She believes that art speaks what words can't and by just being alive she has so much to share. She is constantly amazed with the world around her and those who live in it. Her chosen medium is digital art, though she also enjoys creating pen and ink illustrations. When she's not busy making art, she finds delight in music, cooking, video games and the wonderful company of cats.
