What influences you?
When I started my career, Sep 2019, a local Newcastle woman Megan Core was my biggest influence. I saw her performing everywhere and she saturated the market with gigs and content and tunes, she sure can hustle when she wants to. I wanted to do the same and to be playing around town 4 times a week like her. I guess I could see similarities between us, as we are the same age, and I could see myself in her position one day (if I worked hard enough) and that's why I enjoyed following her journey. I could also actually chat to her and ask her questions about her influences etc. because she took the time of day to reply to me. I don't think starting out as a musician, it's right to compare yourself to big artists like Sia or Delta Goodrem because they are in a different realm, with lots of $$$. Starting out, you gotta look local and revel in the journey as there's so many fun things to achieve when you're a tiny fish in this big fish world.
What Motivates you as an Artist?
I used to be a very anxious person, having panic attacks all the time, probably because I was super lost and unstable. Before music, I was doing a politics degree and I learnt a lot, although, I found it depressing. I knew I had to change my life and so I chose to start doing music full time as I have always loved singing and playing instruments. It makes me happy and it's a magical positive energy which brings everyone together. Many of my songs that I write are political and I can't help but bring what I learnt in the past into my life today as humankind have huge issues that we need to talk about and need to be aware of.
